Afternoon Tea Week in London: 10th August to 16th August

The Best Afternoon Teas in London

From the 10th to the 16th August London will be celebrating Afternoon Tea Week and we’re very excited about it. Why you ask? Well for a number of reasons really but here are our top 5:

  1. It’s a great excuse to eat food in its miniature form
  2. There is no other meal in the day that allows you to eat endless amounts of sweet treats without feeling guilty
  3. Most High Teas offer tray top-ups meaning you can over indulge until your heart is content
  4. There is always a glass of champers on offer which makes us smile
  5. And last but not least… to celebrate all those working in pastry chef jobs in London

For the most part, we only hear about those in Executive Chef jobs or Head Chef jobs in London, yet many restaurants and hotels have esteemed Pastry Chefs who are responsible for whipping up the luxurious desserts and pastries we enjoy when dining out. As an example, Jamie Oliver started his career as a Pastry Chef at Antonio Carluccio’s Neal’s Yard restaurant, back in the day when no-one would have known who he was, and look how far he has come today.

Afternoon Tea Week gives us a chance to pay homage to the talented Pastry Chefs working in London and guide you on where to go to enjoy this quintessentially English tradition.
