We love to see truly great street-food vendors find their forever home, and this is exactly what’s happening with the guys at Claw. Following the huge success they have achieved from their temporary sites at markets throughout London, festivals across the UK and pop-ups at various restaurants, these British seafood and sustainability superheroes are setting-up shop in Soho.
It all started back when Claw founder Fabian Clark discovered that 80% of British seafood is exported. They weren’t going to stand for this, so they cut out the middle man and are now working directly with the suppliers. Their crab and lobster come from Favis in Salcombe, trout from the chalk streams in Hampshire, oysters from Colchester and all their meat from H.G. Walter.
They will be bringing an amazing showcase of sustainable, British seafood, meat and vegetarian options to 21 Kingly Court from December 14th, as well as keeping their signature takeaway dishes that brought them success. , Fabian is a real inspiration to young entrepreneurs in the industry. At Claw he has created a fun-loving menu of home-grown produce, packed with hearty dishes, which showcase a range of seafood, meat, and vegetarian options. This includes the Crab Beignets with crab mayonnaise that some of you may have tasted at our Meat vs. Fish event in September, as well as:
In the evenings the restaurant will be transformed into a bustling eatery complete with their very own private dining space for those looking for somewhere more intimate to celebrate. The interiors at Claw Carnaby have been crafted by design specialists ‘Run for The Hills’, the designers responsible for popular Soho restaurants Kricket and Island Poké.
As a pre-Christmas treat you’ll be pleased to hear that Claw Carnaby are offering 50% off food at their soft launch from Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th December, before opening fully the day after.
If you have a passion for sustainability and working with the very best produce that Britain has to offer, submit your CV to Cris Leone at The Change Group. Claw are looking for a variety of roles including Chef De Partie, Sous Chef and Junior Sous and we’d love to hear from you.
Remember, British sustainable Seafood is for life, not just for Christmas.
