We were thrilled to be invited down to join the pasta masters at Petersham Nurseries’ La Goccia restaurant in Covent Garden last Wednesday to indulge in their interactive 2 hour introduction to pasta making.
La Goccia took part in Change’s charitable event Meat vs Fish vs Veg on 22 May, serving up their scrumptious scallop crudo dish, and this is how we found out about this fun and informative class that they host.
Lasting 2 hours (18h30-20h30), La Goccia supply you with the freshest ingredients in order for you to learn how to make traditional dough, as well as some classic pasta shapes including ravioli, garganelli and tagliatelle. There’s also a waiter on hand who you’re able to order a glass of vino from, when you’re running low. Win!
Our class was hosted by the lovely Helin Taylor, Chef at La Goccia. Helin has worked for Petersham Nurseries both in Richmond and Covent Garden for the last 4 years now and is an expert in pasta making. The class started off with Helin introducing us to what techniques we’d be learning, before guiding us through the process step-by-step.
The masterclass, which is set at the counter in La Goccia, within the hustle and bustle of the beautiful floral interior, is the perfect experience to book with a friend or loved one and once you see their stunning floral court and restaurant, we’re certain you’ll want to revisit to dine.
At the end of the class, you get to take home some freshly made pasta, organic Haye Farm eggs (from their sister business), pasta flour, homemade tomato sauce as well as recipes on how to make each of the pasta you’ve learnt to make so that you can recreate them time and time again.

Spaces are limited and with this fast becoming an increasingly popular Wednesday evening activity, we recommend you don’t delay in booking.
