Our Favourite Gifts of 2018

Embracing the thoughtful, inspiring, weird or wacky, The Change Team have listed their favourite gifts of 2018. You’re sure to find something on here that’ll thrill even the most difficult to buy for people in your life. Permission granted for you to take all the credit in your gift giving for 2019!

1 day Butchery Class at The Ginger Pig

Gareth: I was lucky to get gifted one of these and I am super excited as it’s a great way of finding out the journey of your favourite animal from farm to fork! Also, you get to cook what you butcher at the end! YUM…

Bluetooth Speaker

Jane: I was given a Bluetooth speaker which is something I would never have bought for myself, but I absolutely love it. I put music on every night now and even sometimes in the morning before I leave for work. It puts me in such a good mood and creates a lovely atmosphere in the house, especially while it’s so dark and dreary outside.

Wine Aerator

Sam: Admittedly, I often forget to open that delicious bottle of red to aerate before my dinner guests arrive, so this was a thoughtful gift from a friend (and previous dinner guest). This premium wine aerator with built-in filter is designed to ensure a better tasting glass of wine in less time than can conventionally be achieved. Winning!

365 Knife Block Art

Conor: Without a doubt the best gift I received in 2018! No joke, it’s brilliant! And at £10 a pop, you can also probably spoil them with a little something extra!

Bodyclock Wake Up Lights

Charley: My hubby bought this for me (he’s a clever egg and also benefits) but I’m not complaining as it has made getting up in Winter so much easier. With it still getting light so late, it’s a gift that you’re able to give for the next few months.

Tanna: I was blown away by this very extravagant gift last year, a Thermomix. It blends, cooks, weighs, steams and so much more. For someone who doesn’t love cooking, this appliance has changed my life.

Elizabeth Scarlett Eye Mask

Renata: I was spoilt with a new eye mask for travel and general chill out. It has lavender scent in it so really soothing and the fabric feels super luxurious. I won’t go anywhere without it now!

Wine Advent Calendar

Joe: Hands down, the best advent calendar you’ll ever receive! A mini bottle of wine from loads of different regions, EVERY DAY, until Christmas! Pop the link in your calendar for later in the year so you don’t miss out / forget to buy this one closer to December.

Knomo Backpack

May: More than just a backpack it comes with a charger and lots of useful compartments for laptops, passports etc. I’m so in love with it that all my other backpacks have all been donated to my local charity shop!

Reading in Heels

Tam: The ultimate book club for people who have zero time to be in an actual book club. You get a book a month in a lovely little giftbox filled with other goodies like mini candles and beauty products. The perfect gift for a stressed-out woman who needs a bit of me time. Yes please!

Bath Bridge

Mary-Jo: After a long slog in the office, nothing beats coming home to a hot bath followed by a glass of wine and a Netflix drama. Well, now you can do all 3-in-1 with this (in our eyes, revolutionary discovery), amazing Bath Bridge. Yes, they may have been around for a while, but have you seen how fabulous this one is?! Definitely our top 3 gifts of 2018!

One4all Gift Card

Kristina: So many choices of how to spend it, e.g. clothing, jewellery, perfume, make-up, food, days out or experiences. Such a great gift if you are unsure of what to get someone!

Hue Lighting

Sophie: I bought this for my boyfriend (yes, I know, I kinda gifted myself too) and we are totally in love with them! Control your lighting by simply commanding Siri to turn them on, off, dim or set a certain ambience. Added bonus is if you’re on holiday, you can do the ‘Home Alone’ trickery and make your house look as though your home! Step aside, Macaulay Culkin.

Emma: If you happen to have a very forgetful friend, then look no further as these little bad boys are fantastic pressies as they ensure you find all those items you keep losing! Just tag your car/house keys or anything else of value and track its location on your phone. Your friend will never have to see another Locksmith again!

Blackout Curtains

Ione: Sounds like a rather dreary gift but you cannot beat a good night’s sleep to help improve your mental wellbeing when everything else is a bit chaotic! A game changer for me in 2018!
