Change Hospitality Recruitment Agency – Temp of the Year Award

We are pleased to announce that Kai Roberts has won the Change Group Temp Chef of the Year award.

“Kai is exactly what we look for in a temporary chef, he’s reliable, well presented, contentious and a great communicator. During the course of 2015, Kai has worked in every area that our business covers including restaurants chef jobs, hotels chef jobs and event chef jobs and catering chef jobs. He’s an amazing asset to our business and we are very appreciative that he works with us exclusively.” Oliver Townsend, Associate Director, Temporary Chef Division

This is what Kai has to say about working in temporary chef jobs and working through hospitality recruitment agency, The Change Group:

  • Why have you chosen temporary chef jobs rather than a permanent chef jobs?

I have chosen the temporary chef route as it offers flexibility and scope to work within a range of kitchens throughout London.

  • Why do you prefer being a temporary chef?

I prefer temporary chef jobs as they offer a sense of freedom throughout the course of the year. Another key factor is the opportunity it offers for networking and building a name for yourself amongst the chef community.

  • How long have you been working in temporary chef jobs and when did you switch over from permanent chef jobs?

I have been temping since March 2015, prior to that I had only ever had permanent chef jobs. I left my head chef job in Salcombe, Devon and moved to London to find out what agency work was on offer for an upcoming and enthusiastic chef such as myself.

  • Why do you choose to work exclusively with Change?

I choose to work with Change exclusively as I fully trust everything they stand for and they have certainly looked after me. A special thanks goes out to Tom, Kelsey and Aimee who work on the temporary chef recruitment team.

  • What advice do you have for others considering the temporary chef job route?

My advice to anyone considering temporary chef jobs would be; commit to one agency, be as honest and open as possible and upkeep your reliability and communication.
