Best New Restaurant and Bistro Openings March 2018

We have some fresh new places for all you foodies out there to indulge in! Find out all about the best new restaurants, bistros, bakeries & more opening in March 2018!

Fortitude Bakehouse

This is not your average bakery! Fortitudes will be crafting slowly fermented baked goods which will be hard not to devour on the spot. If you’re passing through Bloomsbury you’ll be able to grab Lemon, rosewater, pistachio buns and squash, cardamom, pumpkin seed, chia cake thanks to Dee Rettali and Jorge Fernandez (former general manager of our favourite Monmouth coffee for six years).

The Vurger Co

The vegan Gods have answered all vegan prayers! The Vurger Co are bringing vegan junk food to a permanent home in Shoreditch. Even vegans need their greasy food fix, right? You can expect burgers, milkshakes, Mac and Cheese and many sides that will be completely animal free.

The owners of Hackney’s Michelin starred bistro Ellory (closing in March) have decided to set up a new Parisian bistro in Shoreditch called Leroy. They’ll be using the same kitchen and front of house team so if you were big fans of Ellory not all is lost! The menu hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it looks like they’ll be heading towards a more casual dining style.

The first thing that comes to mind is bacon, and anything to do with pigs, when you see a restaurant called Hām. However, Hām refers to an old English word meaning home which is the atmosphere they want to create at this new spot in West Hampstead. With Head Chef Matt Osborne (who previously worked at The Ledbury and Terroirs) in the kitchen, Hām needs to be on your to-do list this March.

Mare Street Market

Popular Chef and author Gizzi Erskine will be opening her first permanent space in the new Mare Street Market. In true Hackney fashion this place is going to be much cooler than just a restaurant. Gizzi Erskine says there will be a “woodfired and rotisserie menu, a florist, record shop, coffee roastery, podcast station, smoker and sexy bar, but also a place where you can shop Hackney and other local produce”.

Ex Outlaw Chef Tom Brown is setting up his own restaurant Cornerstone in Hackney Wick. Based on Tom’s background you can expect a pretty hefty seafood based menu which is guaranteed to be incredible with several great British Chefs labelling his fish the “best in London”. The restaurant will also feature counter dining, so you can watch the magic happen!

After helping Kitty Fishers become a restaurant to remember, Tomos Parry is bringing Welsh roots, Basque cuisine and cooking on fire to East London’s Shoreditch. Situated above The Smoking Goat, you can anticipate a menu featuring Cedar Wood Sea trout with Jersey cream and river herbs and slow grilled little Red Mullet. Like Cornerstone there is also the option to sit around an open kitchen to witness the action.

There are a host of amazing restaurants opening this March and we wouldn’t want you to miss out so make sure you check out these guys too!
